Styrene emits a noxious odor and is classified as a volatile organic compound (VOC) and hazardous air pollutant (HAP). Alternatives to styrene are more costly and not as reactive. Alternatives have been found that provide a viable product as a CIPP resin, providing the appropriate mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and life expectancy similar to the styrene containing product.
